Defiance in Wonderland tells of the Bloody Red Queen of Hearts’ authoritarian terror over the residents of Wonderland. This work features collaboratively choreographed, costumed, and designed dance pieces by local dancers, focused largely on ballet and modern techniques. Peek into the oddities of Wonderland and the dancers’ individual interpretations of their chosen characters as the injustices and tyranny wrought by the Queen builds to their rebellion.

Superior Expressions, a Marquette nonprofit dedicated to creating more opportunities for expressive performance art and self-expression, is proud to back this collaborative gathering of local adult dancers. Defiance in Wonderland features production by Lex Exworthy and Emily Snow, and set and costume design assistance from Queen City Dance Company and Jamie Weeder.
