Like a cigarette left too close to fuel. James Hamilton will ignite the stage with selections from his 2026 Spoken-Word Project: Gaslight Preacher.

James Hamilton is known for a comet-like energy in live settings, often appearing at open mics and showcases in the US as well as abroad, where he might stop a set to interact with the audience. His delivery is noted for being intense and enlivening.

Hamilton has a jazz dialect, often using irrational or irreverent phrasing to capture the erratic timing and tangential flavor of his thoughts. His signature style relies on the palpable passion of his live performance and creative manipulation of words to create a fresh and unaffected sound.
